An Inspiring Destination

You'll find it along the coast, in the countryside and up in the sky. You'll find it along the meandering rivers, the quirky streets and from the local storytellers. But what is it?! It's what we call INSPIRATION.

North Wales has a magical feel to it and has become quite the destination for adventure and escapism. A place to retreat. To rest, day dream, be at peace and connect with like minded creative souls. But not surprisingly, it is a place to be inspired by and where you'll find creative inspiration.

I have an affinity with the Northern shores of Wales, as I was born and bred in the University town of Bangor just bordering the mighty Menai Straits. I never tire of this area, spoilt by an endless list of sandy beaches with crystal blue waters, coastal drives and historic seaside towns. It really is a beautiful corner of the UK.

There is no need to travel a long way to feel a million miles away from the hustle n bustle of city life. I am constantly encouraging my guests to step over the borders and take a road less travelled into Wales. North Wales is home to a dramatic and beautiful coastline, steeped in Celtic history and quietly complimented by a strong Welsh culture.

This year I've chosen to host the majority of my retreats in Criccieth, a very special seaside town perfectly situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and at the gateway to the stunning, wild scenery of the Llŷn Peninsula.

With its unique charm and friendly atmosphere, Criccieth’s picturesque beauty encourages visitors to return time and time again. I have chosen a beautiful 12 bedroom beach abode, just a few steps from the shoreline with the historic 13th Century castle standing proud in the distance. With wonderful beaches, riverside walks, thriving High Street gift shops, delightful independent coffee shops and restaurants, you won’t be disappointed!

The beach house is perfectly placed for a writing & wellness retreat and is decorated in a quirky, warm style. It oozes comfort, with enough lounging room for guests to find a quiet, cosy corner to write or daydream out to sea. There is a banqueting table big enough to seat 24 people with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay. The sound of the crashing waves can be heard from bed at night when the windows are open. With our 'go back to bed' attitude in the morning, there is nothing more soothing than listening to the ocean crashing onto the shore. Inspiration will be knocking at your door 24/7!

'Cream of the Crop' - The Cadwaladers Ice Cream story began in 1927. The Cadwalader family lived in Criccieth in Gwynedd, North Wales. There they made and sold their closely guarded secret recipe, vanilla ice cream, from the window of their Criccieth general store. Cadwaladers Vanilla Ice Cream has a unique taste and it enticed customers from miles around. Childhood memories from Criccieth holidays continue to bring customers back year after year.

'Stunning Setting' - Dylan’s Restaurant Criccieth is found on the coast of Pen Llŷn | the Llŷn Peninsula, Gwynedd, a stone’s throw from the beach, within the iconic Art Deco styled Morannedd building. It certainly, has the X factor, both in decor and taste.
